A website navigation menu is a set of links redirect to various important areas of that website. Those links are usually pointing to internal important pages or posts only, not every page or post. The exact location of the navigation menu mostly depends on the theme. But normally it places on the upper portion of the pages, that’s the reason it’s called the ‘header’ of the website. Some of the most common pages linked to in these menus are:

How to Add Navigation Menu on your WordPress Site?

Now, we will show you how we can add a navigation menu on the WordPress site. To add a navigation menu first you need to go to your admin dashboard area and then ‘Appearance > Menus’. You will redirect to the following page below:

Now, add the ‘Menu Name’ and click on the ‘Create Menu’ under the ‘Menu structure’ section..

After creating the menu, you can see ‘Add Menu Items’ on the left side of the screen. You will see three different tabs there Most Recent, View All, Search. Also, you can add Posts, Customs Links, Categories to the menu from here.

Select the items you want to add on the menu by clicking on the checkbox beside the items. Once you are done selecting item click on the ‘Add to Menu’.

Now, you can see the manus are added under the menu name you created.

After that, you need to set the menu where and how you want to show them. For now, choose ‘Desktop Horizontal Menu’ and click on ‘Save Menu’.

Now, go to your website and check the menu.

To create drop-down menu under a menu, drag the item below and to the right of the menu which you want to parent it. Doing so will automatically change the property of that item to a sub-item or child item to the parent under which it is situated.

If you like to show the menu in hamburger style then you can choose ‘Desktop Expanded Menu’.
