Step 3: Create a Bot

Once you click the WP Telegram menu, it will take you to the plugin’s settings page. There will be several tabs on the settings page and the plugin provides a full list of instructions to set all the options. On the “Basic” tab, we need to create a bot.

To create a bot, search for @BotFather inside the Telegram chat window and choose the first one with a blue tick.

Once you open the @BotFather, you will see a full list of commands for the BotFather in the chat window. In the chat, simply type /newbot and a new bot will be created.

Next, enter an appropriate name and username (it needs to end with “bot”) for your bot. Once you have provided the name and username, a token will be displayed in the chat window.

Copy the token, go back to the WP Telegram “Basic” tab, paste the token into the Bot Token field and click on the “Test Token” button. As the token is connected to this specific bot, the Bot Username field will fill automatically.

Lastly, click the “Save Changes” button to store your settings and you have finished the initial setup of WP Telegram.

Step 4: Create a Channel

Channels are a great way to send your website updates to an unlimited number of audiences. It’s an excellent feature to share your content with your visitors.

To create a channel, go to the “Post to Telegram” tab in the WP Telegram plugin dashboard and toggle “ON” the “Active” switch.

Now, move to the Telegram app, click on the “Triple Bar” on the left corner of the app, and then the “New Channel” button.

Next, you will be asked for the channel name and description. As the channel will be a public channel, name it properly and click the “Create” button.

Finally, select the “Public” option and hit the “Save” button to create the channel.

Step 5: Send WordPress Posts to Telegram

As the channel has been created, it’s time to add your bot as an administrator. For that, go to the three dots on the top right corner of the channel window and click “Manage Channel”.

Now, select the “Administrators” option from the list. On the next screen, you need to search for your bot and press the bot’s name.

Then review the list, if the “Post Messages” is enabled and leave others as they are.  Lastly, click the “Save” button.

Once you are done, return to your WordPress website to finish setting up the plugin. We were on the “Post to Telegram” tab earlier, so scroll down to the ‘Destination’ section.

Now, click the ‘+Add’ button, enter the channel name and click the “Send Test” button.

The “Sent Test” button will send a test message to your channel to make sure the connection is working. If your connection is working properly, then you will get a default message, “This is a test message.”

Now, whenever you create a new post or update an old post, you will see the “Send to Telegram” settings option in the WordPress editor. If you don’t want to send the post to Telegram, you can switch the option off.

After that, scroll down to the “Rules” section and review if the “Post” option is checked to send new posts when they are published. You can also check your Page and your custom posts type to broadcast on Telegram. There are more settings options you can change. Go through them carefully and choose the best options for your website.

Once you are done, click on the “Save Changes” button.

Step 6: Create a Group and Send Notifications from WordPress to the Group 

Group is an amazing Telegram feature to communicate with your team members. It works like a channel but in a smaller form. Where you can add up to 200,000 people on the channel, the group allows you to add 200-5000 people.

First, go to the “Private Notifications” tab and toggle the “Active” switch to the “On” position.

Creating a group is quite similar to creating a channel. Just, click on the “Triple Bar” on the left corner of the Telegram app and select “New Group”. Add a name for the group, add your team members and click the “Create” button.

Now, to get your Group Chat ID, you need to add @MyChatInfoBot. For that, go to the group settings, click “Members”, search for @MyChatInfoBot and add it to the group. The bot will add your Group ID to the chat. Just copy the ID.

Note: Don’t forget to add your own bot and make it administrator so that the plugin can send WordPress notifications.

Next, go back to the “Private Notifications” tab, and paste the ID into the “Notification Settings” section. Hit the “Send Test” button. to make sure that everything is set up correctly.

Finally, press the ”Save Changes” button. Now your WordPress notifications will be sent to your Telegram group.

If you want to send notifications to an individual on Telegram, follow the same process.

Because, where most of the form builder plugins provide the multi-page form feature in the premium version, Live Forms offer that feature for both free and paid version. Its drag and drop feature takes only a few seconds to build a form. Moreover, with the Live Forms, you just need to click a button to make your form a multi-page form, whereas other form builders make the process lengthy and tricky.

Step -1: Install and Activate the Live Forms Plugin

To start creating a multi-page form for your WordPress site, you need to install and activate the Live Forms. Live Forms provide the multi-page form feature on both free and paid version. So you can easily install the plugin from WordPress.org.

To install Live forms, navigate to “Plugins> Add New” and then search for the Live Forms plugin. Once you find the plugin, just install and activate it.

After activation, the “Forms” menu will appear on your admin dashboard.

Step- 2: Creating a Multi-Page Form WordPress Site

As we have added the form title, you need to add form fields to your form. But before that, you need to go to the “Setting > Look and Feel” and check the “Enable multi-page form” option. It will allow you to create the multi-page form.

Now, to add form fields, check the “FIELDS” option on the left side of your screen. Live Forms offers three types of form fields to its users:

• Commonly Used Fields and Generic Fields are for both free and premium version users.

• Advanced Fields are for only premium version users.

Now, drag and drop the form fields you want to add to one group. For this School Admission Form, we have added a few form fields for the student information section.

After adding a section of form fields, you may want to split the form into pages. And creating a multi-page form into a single-page form is just a click away. Just drag the “Add New Section” button from the top right corner of the form builder page and drop it on the form.

You can also name the section or page. For that, hover over the section filed and the settings option will appear on the left side. Now, add the section name on the text box under the “Section Name”.

Next, add the additional form fields to complete your form and customize the submit button.

Lastly, click the “Save” button to save the form.

Step-3: Publish The Multi-Page Form

Once you are done, it’s time to add the form to a page or post. For that, click on the “Embed” button on the top left corner of the screen.

Now, a shortcode will appear on the screen. Copy that shortcode and paste it to the page or post you want the form to publish.

Click the “Publish” button and let’s check the form.

As you can see, the form displaying only a few fields on the first page. Once your users fill out the fields on the first page, they will be able to go to the next page by pressing the “Proceed” button.

1. Check Your Email Notification:

In some cases, the site owner receives an email from WordPress with details about the cause of the error. This notification contains helpful information about what caused the error on your website which makes troubleshooting errors a lot easier and simpler. It will also give you a link to put your site into recovery mode.

Check your email inbox or spam to know if you have received an email. If you don’t get an email with helpful details, don’t worry. It is possible to troubleshoot the error without this information. You just need to follow the steps you are going to mention below.

2. Solving Plugin Conflicts:

As mentioned, plugins and themes conflict is the root cause of this error. That’s the reason, it’s wise to determine if a plugin or theme is causing the issue. We are starting with checking plugin conflict.

As this error doesn’t give access to the WordPress admin area, we need to use the FTP client to access our public_html directory. First of all, “navigate to /wp-content/plugins”. Now, you need to rename the “plugins” folder, right-click on the folder and click “Rename”. You can rename the folder to anything you want.

Once you rename the folder, WordPress should not be able to find the files related to the problematic plugin. Reload your WordPress site and check whether the error is still there or not. If you don’t see the error, it’s clear that any of the plugins was causing the issue and you will get access to your site.

Now, you need to find out which plugin is causing the issue. For that, rename each plugin folder back to the “plugins”, and go back to “WordPress Dashboard > Plugins”. Now, activate the plugins one by one, until the error appears again.

Once you found out which plugin is causing the issue, check if the previous version of the plugin is compatible or not. For that, install the WP Rollback plugin and choose any of the older versions of that plugin. If that is also unable to solve the issue, reach out to the plugin developer or install an alternative plugin.

But, what will you do if don’t get access to your site? Again, use the FTP client, rename each plugin folder and name them back one-by-one to the original name. Keep refreshing your site each time to detect which plugin is causing the issue. Delete the plugin folder to get access to the admin dashboard.

3. Solving Theme Conflicts:

If the issue is not with plugins, then it might be because of the theme. To check if the theme you are using is the culprit, you need to repeat the same procedure as the plugin. Simply log in to the FTP client, go to “wp-content/themes/ directory” and rename the currently active theme.

Now, refresh your WordPress site and check if the “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” error message has disappeared. If it is, then delete the theme. For that, just right-click your theme folder and select “Delete”. WordPress will start using one of the default themes you have.

But if the error doesn’t disappear after renaming the theme folder, then the issue is not with the theme. So you don’t need to delete the theme and make sure to rename the theme folder back to its original name.

However, even a lot of unused themes can be also caused this error. So it’s best practice to remove unnecessary themes from your WordPress site.

4. Use Upgraded PHP Version:

If troubleshooting for plugins or theme conflict could not help to resolve the error, then determine whether you are using an updated version of PHP or the PHP memory limit is running low.

If you’re running an outdated version of PHP, you’ll need to update it. The steps for this process may vary based on your hosting provider. It’s recommended to use the latest version for your site performance and security. WordPress doesn’t support PHP versions older than 5.6.20 and recommends using version 7.2 at least. Even PHP developers themselves don’t provide support for versions older than 7.4. Another thing you need to check is if your PHP memory limit is running low. To increase the memory limit, open your wp-config.php file and add the following line of code within the main PHP tags.

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');

Now, save and exit the file.

You can also increase the PHP memory limit from the .htaccess file. For that, go to the WordPress root directory and open your .htaccess file and add the following code:

php_value memory_limit 128M

Don’t forget to save the file once you are done.

You can even increase your PHP memory limit to 256M. In that case, you just need to add 256M instead of 128M. But it is wise to increase memory too much, which can cause your site to crash.

5. Enable Debug Mode:

Enabling the debug mode in WordPress is another way to get rid of this issue. It allows you to exact the location where this error occurs and troubleshoot it.

To enable debugging, find your wp-config.php file by using an FTP client. You will see the statement “That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing.” at the end of the file. Now, add the following line of code just before that statement:

define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );

Then, save the file and refresh your WordPress site.

Now, debug mode is enabled on your website. It will show you the fatal error messages which will help you to find out the cause of the problem. Once you find it, troubleshoot the problem accordingly.

Don’t forget to disable debug mood once you are done. For that, delete the code line you added to your wp-config.php code or change the value of “true” to “false” in the code and save the file.

6. Reinstall WordPress:

A Corrupted WordPress core file can be also the reason for the “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” error. To get rid of this, you need to replace old WordPress files with a fresh WordPress installation. For that, browse WordPress.org and download a copy of WordPress. After that, unzip the file to get all the files you need to reinstall WordPress.

Now, use the FTP client to get access to the root folder of your WordPress website. Next, you need to upload freshly installed files to your WordPress site using an FTP client. You will be asked, if you want to overwrite these files or skip them, select “Overwrite”.

That’s it. Your FTP client will replace your entire core WordPress file with the fresh one. Refresh and try to visit your site to check if the is still there.

7. Contact Your Hosting Provider:

If all the above-mentioned steps fail to remove the error from your WordPress site, then there is nothing wrong with your end. The issue may lie with your server and needs serious professional help. So, you need to ask for help from your hosting provider.

How to Create Multiple-Column Form:

First of all, go to your admin dashboard and click on the ‘Start From Ground’.

Once you redirect to the form building page, add a name for the form.

You will be able to see the drag and drop form builder on this page. It allows you to add form fields by simply dragging the fields and dropping them to the desired position. I have added a form field using the drag and drop method before showing you the multiple-column feature.

Now, to add multiple-columns you need to drag and drop ‘Add New Section’. After new section added, you can resize the section.

Add new form field on the section you resized and click on ‘Insert Column’ to add new column, add another form filed.

You can add as much column as you want by resizing the existing columns.

You can also add multiple form fields at a time in a section and resize them together.

Complete your form with the necessary fields. You will also get ‘Space’ form field ion the ‘Advanced fields’ section.

Once you have completed your form building, preview the form. Here, is the form I have built.
