How to know what WordPress theme a website is using? Choosing a WordPress theme is a significant decision when creating a website. There are various factors to consider when selecting the perfect theme for your site. But if you find a website that has the layout and features you admire, it could be a time-saving shortcut to finding the right theme for you.

While some websites use custom themes that you won’t be able to use, many use popular premium or free WordPress themes. In such cases, you can quickly identify the name of the theme and download or purchase it yourself.

In this article, we’ll guide you through various methods to find which WordPress theme a website is using.

How to tell what theme a WordPress site is using?

There are two methods available for identifying the theme used by a WordPress site. The first option involves utilizing a theme detector tool, where you input the site’s URL to extract the theme information. The second method is applicable if the site has a custom-built stylesheet or if the theme has undergone significant modifications. In this case, you can manually locate the style.css file of the theme in the website’s source code to avoid encountering an error message.

1. Find a Site’s WordPress Theme Using a Theme Detector Tool:

How to check what WordPress theme a website is using? Using a theme detector tool is the most convenient method for determining the theme utilized by a website. Although these tools may not be able to identify themes used in highly customized websites, it is still worth investing a few seconds to search the URL in one of the following tools before proceeding to the next step.

There are many theme detector tools available on the web that let you find out a site’s theme. WPThemeDetector, WP Theme Detector by Satori, IsItWP, and WPBeginner WordPress Theme Detector are the four most popular theme detector tools. Each of them works quite similarly. You just need to paste your URL in the search bar, you’ll see the theme’s name, version, author, and a short description.

These tools also detect the number of plugins the site uses.

2. Find a Site’s WordPress Theme Manually:

If a website owner changes the name of their WordPress theme, it can be challenging for popular theme detector tools to identify the theme being used. That’s why learning how to manually find the theme of a WordPress website can be beneficial. Fortunately, it’s not a difficult process.

Each WordPress theme has a style.css file that contains vital information about the theme in use, such as the theme name, author, stylesheet URL, version, and more. It also contains the CSS styles utilized by the theme. To identify the theme being used on a WordPress site, you need to locate this file.

To locate the style.css file of a WordPress theme, you can use your browser’s inspect tool. The specific steps may vary depending on your browser, but in Google Chrome, you can right-click anywhere on the website you want to examine and select “View Page Source” from the menu that appears.

This action will open a new browser tab containing the page’s source code. Look for a line of code that resembles the following:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://www.example.com/wp-content/themes/themename/style.css">

Note that there may be several style.css files included in the page source, so you need to look for the one that has “/wp-content/themes” in the URL. The “themename” part of the URL refers to the name of the WordPress theme in use on the website.

Conclusion:

By using any of the above-mentioned methods you can now easily find out which theme your favorite WordPress website is using. In case none of the methods mentioned above yield any results, it’s possible that the website you’re trying to identify may be using a custom theme. Custom themes are often used by brands that want to create a unique user experience, and as a result, it may not be possible to obtain a copy of the theme even if you are able to determine its name. However, if you still want to find the theme name and use the theme, you can ask the owner of the site directly.

Though adding Telegram to WordPress is quite easy, you need to go through several steps. To make the process easier for you, we’ll show you how to integrate your WordPress site with Telegram by following six steps. So, let’s start!

Step 1: Set up Telegram on your Desktop

To start integrating Telegram, first, you need to start by setting up Telegram on your Desktop. For that, download Telegram for Windows/MAC and complete the installation. Once you have launched the app, create an account with your phone number. If you already have a Telegram account on your phone just verify it via QR code.
Step 2: Install WP Telegram

Though there are multiple Telegram plugins, the WP Telegram plugin is the most popular one to add Telegram in WordPress. So, for this tutorial, we are going to install the WP Telegram plugin. Let’s start by navigating your WordPress “admin dashboard > Plugins > Add New”. Now, search for WP Telegram in the search box, click on “Install Now” and activate the plugin for use.

After activation, you will see a new menu item labeled WP Telegram on your WordPress admin dashboard.

Step 3: Create a Bot

Once you click the WP Telegram menu, it will take you to the plugin’s settings page. There will be several tabs on the settings page and the plugin provides a full list of instructions to set all the options. On the “Basic” tab, we need to create a bot.

To create a bot, search for @BotFather inside the Telegram chat window and choose the first one with a blue tick.

Once you open the @BotFather, you will see a full list of commands for the BotFather in the chat window. In the chat, simply type /newbot and a new bot will be created.

Next, enter an appropriate name and username (it needs to end with “bot”) for your bot. Once you have provided the name and username, a token will be displayed in the chat window.

Copy the token, go back to the WP Telegram “Basic” tab, paste the token into the Bot Token field and click on the “Test Token” button. As the token is connected to this specific bot, the Bot Username field will fill automatically.

Lastly, click the “Save Changes” button to store your settings and you have finished the initial setup of WP Telegram.

Step 4: Create a Channel

Channels are a great way to send your website updates to an unlimited number of audiences. It’s an excellent feature to share your content with your visitors.

To create a channel, go to the “Post to Telegram” tab in the WP Telegram plugin dashboard and toggle “ON” the “Active” switch.

Now, move to the Telegram app, click on the “Triple Bar” on the left corner of the app, and then the “New Channel” button.

Next, you will be asked for the channel name and description. As the channel will be a public channel, name it properly and click the “Create” button.

Finally, select the “Public” option and hit the “Save” button to create the channel.

Step 5: Send WordPress Posts to Telegram

As the channel has been created, it’s time to add your bot as an administrator. For that, go to the three dots on the top right corner of the channel window and click “Manage Channel”.

Now, select the “Administrators” option from the list. On the next screen, you need to search for your bot and press the bot’s name.

Then review the list, if the “Post Messages” is enabled and leave others as they are. Lastly, click the “Save” button.

Once you are done, return to your WordPress website to finish setting up the plugin. We were on the “Post to Telegram” tab earlier, so scroll down to the ‘Destination’ section.

Now, click the ‘+Add’ button, enter the channel name and click the “Send Test” button.

The “Sent Test” button will send a test message to your channel to make sure the connection is working. If your connection is working properly, then you will get a default message, “This is a test message.”

Now, whenever you create a new post or update an old post, you will see the “Send to Telegram” settings option in the WordPress editor. If you don’t want to send the post to Telegram, you can switch the option off.

After that, scroll down to the “Rules” section and review if the “Post” option is checked to send new posts when they are published. You can also check your Page and your custom posts type to broadcast on Telegram. There are more settings options you can change. Go through them carefully and choose the best options for your website.

Once you are done, click on the “Save Changes” button.

Step 6: Create a Group and Send Notifications from WordPress to the Group

Group is an amazing Telegram feature to communicate with your team members. It works like a channel but in a smaller form. Where you can add up to 200,000 people on the channel, the group allows you to add 200-5000 people.

First, go to the “Private Notifications” tab and toggle the “Active” switch to the “On” position.

Creating a group is quite similar to creating a channel. Just, click on the “Triple Bar” on the left corner of the Telegram app and select “New Group”. Add a name for the group, add your team members and click the “Create” button.

Now, to get your Group Chat ID, you need to add @MyChatInfoBot. For that, go to the group settings, click “Members”, search for @MyChatInfoBot and add it to the group. The bot will add your Group ID to the chat. Just copy the ID.

Note: Don’t forget to add your own bot and make it administrator so that the plugin can send WordPress notifications.

Next, go back to the “Private Notifications” tab, and paste the ID into the “Notification Settings” section. Hit the “Send Test” button. to make sure that everything is set up correctly.

Finally, press the ”Save Changes” button. Now your WordPress notifications will be sent to your Telegram group.

If you want to send notifications to an individual on Telegram, follow the same process.

Often website owners need to collect tons of information from users through forms. But when users see forms with many fields they tend to be scared and leave your website without filling the form.

What could be the solution to get all the information you want without scaring the users away?

That’s where multi-page forms came in handy. Multi-page forms only display a part of form fields at the first glance so that it becomes easier to fill out for your users. Not only that, it helps increase engagement and improve the user experience.

In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to create a multi-page form for your WordPress site with Live Forms. But before that let’s see why you should set up a multi-step form.

Reasons Why You Should Set Up a Multi-Page Form:

Forms are one of the best ways to collect users’ information. But when you add tons of form fields to a form, it can be annoying for your users. So, instead of creating a long form you should consider creating a multi-page form. Here is why____

It provides the well-organized layout

Help you to group the questions into specific topics and ask genuine questions from your users.

Reduces form abandonment rate by displaying a limited number of form fields

Offers a better user experience and encourage your website visitor to fill out the form

As it offers a better user experience certainly boosts your website conversion rates

How to Create a Multi-Page Form for Your WordPress Site?

As we have mentioned earlier, in this tutorial we will use the Live Forms plugin to create a multi-page form for the WordPress site. Now, you might be thinking that why we are using Live Forms for creating the multi-page form?

Because, where most of the form builder plugins provide the multi-page form feature in the premium version, Live Forms offer that feature for both free and paid version. Its drag and drop feature takes only a few seconds to build a form. Moreover, with the Live Forms, you just need to click a button to make your form a multi-page form, whereas other form builders make the process lengthy and tricky.

Step -1: Install and Activate the Live Forms Plugin

To start creating a multi-page form for your WordPress site, you need to install and activate the Live Forms. Live Forms provide the multi-page form feature on both free and paid version. So you can easily install the plugin from WordPress.org.

To install Live forms, navigate to “Plugins> Add New” and then search for the Live Forms plugin. Once you find the plugin, just install and activate it.

After activation, the “Forms” menu will appear on your admin dashboard.

Step- 2: Creating a Multi-Page Form WordPress Site

Now, it’s time to start creating the multi-page form. For that, go to “Forms > Add New” and simply select a form template. If you don’t want to choose a template and start creating Formby yourself then click on “Start From the Ground”.

Once the form builder page appears, the first thing you need to do is add a title for the form. For this tutorial, we are going to create a multi-page School Admission Form.

As we have added the form title, you need to add form fields to your form. But before that, you need to go to the “Setting > Look and Feel” and check the “Enable multi-page form” option. It will allow you to create the multi-page form.

Now, to add form fields, check the “FIELDS” option on the left side of your screen. Live Forms offers three types of form fields to its users:

Commonly Used Fields and Generic Fields are for both free and premium version users.

Advanced Fields are for only premium version users.

For School Admission Form we need to use advanced fields also. If you need advanced fields then check the pricing page and purchase a plan.

Now, drag and drop the form fields you want to add to one group. For this School Admission Form, we have added a few form fields for the student information section.

After adding a section of form fields, you may want to split the form into pages. And creating a multi-page form into a single-page form is just a click away. Just drag the “Add New Section” button from the top right corner of the form builder page and drop it on the form.

You can also name the section or page. For that, hover over the section filed and the settings option will appear on the left side. Now, add the section name on the text box under the “Section Name”.

Next, add the additional form fields to complete your form and customize the submit button.

Lastly, click the “Save” button to save the form.

Step-3: Publish The Multi-Page Form

Once you are done, it’s time to add the form to a page or post. For that, click on the “Embed” button on the top left corner of the screen.

Now, a shortcode will appear on the screen. Copy that shortcode and paste it to the page or post you want the form to publish.

Click the “Publish” button and let’s check the form.

As you can see, the form displaying only a few fields on the first page. Once your users fill out the fields on the first page, they will be able to go to the next page by pressing the “Proceed” button.

As you know, WordPress has a huge collection of themes and plugins to make your site looks good and to add more features. But unfortunately, not all the themes and plugins are compatible with the platform. And there is where WordPress “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” error occurs.

The most difficult part of this error is, that it doesn’t provide you details about the reason behind it. It’s just the new way to alert you to PHP errors. So, it’s difficult to find out the cause and fix it.

Yet, there is nothing to worry about. In this guide, we will show you different ways to fix the “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” error, as well as what causes it.

Now, without wasting any more time let’s move forward.

What is WordPress “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” Error?

“The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” error is a fatal WordPress error. Sometimes when you update your WordPress themes and plugins suddenly you see “White Screen of Death” or this error. Because “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” error is also known as the WordPress “White Screen of Death”. After WordPress 5.2 version, WordPress displays this error message instead of displaying the white screen.

Sometimes, the error message appears even if you are not updating any files. This means, your website may be processing an automatic update and once the update is completed the message will disappear. But if the message stays longer than 10 minutes, then it could be a real problem. It will restrict you to access your website from the front as well as the backend. However, compatibility is not the only cause of this error, other causes can be PHP errors, server issues, malware, botched update, etc. In the next section, we will tell you what could be the other reasons behind this error.

Why Does WordPress “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” Error Occur?

There can be many reasons behind the occurrence of the WordPress “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” error. Generally, this error message comes without any explanation regarding why it appeared. So it’s difficult to find out the reason causing it. Even though, sometimes WordPress sends information about what may be causing the error to the site’s administrator with an email. It’s necessary to detect why this error occurs for finding the right solution. So, let’s check what can be the reason behind this error.

Plugin/Theme incompatibility or conflict:

As we said earlier, this error message can be displayed if any conflict occurs due to updating WordPress core, themes and plugins. But using outdated WordPress core, themes and plugins also can be the cause of the conflict and followed by the error. Moreover, even if you copied and pasted code snippets to your WordPress site, incompatibility and conflict problems may occur for that also.

PHP error:

As we know, WordPress core and its themes and plugins use PHP. And PHP also receives updates as WordPress core, themes and plugins do. If you don’t update the PHP version and use an outdated version then it could cause the “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties” error.

Botched Update:

If your WordPress core /themes/ plugins update gets interrupted midway, gets timed out or failed then you may face the “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” error.

Malware:

If hackers are able to gain access to your WordPress site and install malware that could be also a reason for this error.

Server Issue:

If you could not able to find anything wrong with your website, then the problem might be on your server.

How to Fix the “The Site Is Experiencing Technical Difficulties.” WordPress Error:

In this section, we are going to discuss 7 ways to fix the “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” error in WordPress. Those simple methods will help you to resolve this issue even if are not a coding expert.

1. Check Your Email Notification:

In some cases, the site owner receives an email from WordPress with details about the cause of the error. This notification contains helpful information about what caused the error on your website which makes troubleshooting errors a lot easier and simpler. It will also give you a link to put your site into recovery mode.

Check your email inbox or spam to know if you have received an email. If you don’t get an email with helpful details, don’t worry. It is possible to troubleshoot the error without this information. You just need to follow the steps you are going to mention below.

2. Solving Plugin Conflicts:

As mentioned, plugins and themes conflict is the root cause of this error. That’s the reason, it’s wise to determine if a plugin or theme is causing the issue. We are starting with checking plugin conflict.

As this error doesn’t give access to the WordPress admin area, we need to use the FTP client to access our public_html directory. First of all, “navigate to /wp-content/plugins”. Now, you need to rename the “plugins” folder, right-click on the folder and click “Rename”. You can rename the folder to anything you want.

Once you rename the folder, WordPress should not be able to find the files related to the problematic plugin. Reload your WordPress site and check whether the error is still there or not. If you don’t see the error, it’s clear that any of the plugins was causing the issue and you will get access to your site.

Now, you need to find out which plugin is causing the issue. For that, rename each plugin folder back to the “plugins”, and go back to “WordPress Dashboard > Plugins”. Now, activate the plugins one by one, until the error appears again.

Once you found out which plugin is causing the issue, check if the previous version of the plugin is compatible or not. For that, install the WP Rollback plugin and choose any of the older versions of that plugin. If that is also unable to solve the issue, reach out to the plugin developer or install an alternative plugin.

But, what will you do if don’t get access to your site? Again, use the FTP client, rename each plugin folder and name them back one-by-one to the original name. Keep refreshing your site each time to detect which plugin is causing the issue. Delete the plugin folder to get access to the admin dashboard.

3. Solving Theme Conflicts:

If the issue is not with plugins, then it might be because of the theme. To check if the theme you are using is the culprit, you need to repeat the same procedure as the plugin. Simply log in to the FTP client, go to “wp-content/themes/ directory” and rename the currently active theme.

Now, refresh your WordPress site and check if the “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” error message has disappeared. If it is, then delete the theme. For that, just right-click your theme folder and select “Delete”. WordPress will start using one of the default themes you have.

But if the error doesn’t disappear after renaming the theme folder, then the issue is not with the theme. So you don’t need to delete the theme and make sure to rename the theme folder back to its original name.

However, even a lot of unused themes can be also caused this error. So it’s best practice to remove unnecessary themes from your WordPress site.

4. Use Upgraded PHP Version:

If troubleshooting for plugins or theme conflict could not help to resolve the error, then determine whether you are using an updated version of PHP or the PHP memory limit is running low.

If you’re running an outdated version of PHP, you’ll need to update it. The steps for this process may vary based on your hosting provider. It’s recommended to use the latest version for your site performance and security. WordPress doesn’t support PHP versions older than 5.6.20 and recommends using version 7.2 at least. Even PHP developers themselves don’t provide support for versions older than 7.4. If you don’t know how to upgrade the PHP version then check our tutorial on How to Update the PHP Version on WordPress.

Another thing you need to check is if your PHP memory limit is running low. To increase the memory limit, open your wp-config.php file and add the following line of code within the main PHP tags.

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');

Now, save and exit the file.

You can also increase the PHP memory limit from the .htaccess file. For that, go to the WordPress root directory and open your .htaccess file and add the following code:

php_value memory_limit 128M

Don’t forget to save the file once you are done.

You can even increase your PHP memory limit to 256M. In that case, you just need to add 256M instead of 128M. But it is wise to increase memory too much, which can cause your site to crash.

5. Enable Debug Mode:

Enabling the debug mode in WordPress is another way to get rid of this issue. It allows you to exact the location where this error occurs and troubleshoot it.

To enable debugging, find your wp-config.php file by using an FTP client. You will see the statement “That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing.” at the end of the file. Now, add the following line of code just before that statement:

define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );

Then, save the file and refresh your WordPress site.

Now, debug mode is enabled on your website. It will show you the fatal error messages which will help you to find out the cause of the problem. Once you find it, troubleshoot the problem accordingly.

We have released WordPress Live Forms (v.4.4.4) with exclusive new features. The most attractive feature of this update is the multiple-column form feature. With this feature, you can add multiple form fields in a column. The best part is this feature is available for both Free and Pro Version. So, let’s see how you can create a multiple-column form with this new release.

How to Create Multiple-Column Form:

First of all, go to your admin dashboard and click on the ‘Start From Ground’.

Once you redirect to the form building page, add a name for the form.

You will be able to see the drag and drop form builder on this page. It allows you to add form fields by simply dragging the fields and dropping them to the desired position. I have added a form field using the drag and drop method before showing you the multiple-column feature.

Now, to add multiple-columns you need to drag and drop ‘Add New Section’. After new section added, you can resize the section.

Add new form field on the section you resized and click on ‘Insert Column’ to add new column, add another form filed.

You can add as much column as you want by resizing the existing columns.

You can also add multiple form fields at a time in a section and resize them together.

Marketing & advertising & in general the entire communications industry is ever-changing. Because of this, professionals find themselves having to adapt again & again to consumer behavior. In the beginning, these two industries were one-way communication streets, but with the development of technology, this has changed. Feedbacks allowed professionals to gain valuable insight into the lives of consumers & to take advantage of this in order to become better salesmen. Data mining was the game to be played.

As time has passed, technology evolved & we have more & more advanced tools & means of collecting data. From simple names, emails, or addresses, we can gather more complex details such as shopping habits, search patterns & even face recognition software & hardware. Over the past few years, it’s been all about finding out what’s making consumers tick, collecting as much data as possible about them in order to create highly targetable & personalized marketing messages.

With the recession, marketing departments are more often than not forced into making decisions based solely on data to avoid unneeded spendings. Phrases such as Return on Investment (ROI) or Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) are on everyone’s tongues & lists of KPIs. This has made marketing professionals run around after consumer data, having the belief that once they’ve accumulated enough, they’ll know exactly the WHYs, HOWs, WHENs & WHEREs of selling somebody a product or a service. When in truth all this has really accomplished is gain little analyzable data at the cost of being called intrusive.

Shifting Towards Smart Data Marketing

That being said, a slight repositioning on the same direction is necessary because data alone is no longer enough. The industry needs to shift from making data driven decisions to smart data marketing. This shift needs to be made because massive volumes of data come with a set of difficulties. Besides being too large to analyze & interpret with traditional statistical analysis, it is painstakingly hard to pinpoint exact actionable information. In other words, after hours of data analysis, you’ll be left in a sea of percentages & with no clear way in which to steer your boat in order to make them better. & smart data marketing is the answer because it offers a stronger signal for your boat to follow, savvy?

Smart data marketing is nothing more but a metamorphosis of big data into something more actionable. Furthermore, smart data marketing tops Google’s top marketing predictions for 2016, announcing it’s official arrival in the professional practice limelight. To be perfectly understood, data will still remain a priority, it’s just that “big” has turned to “smart” data. & the overwhelming amount of data gathered turns into a clearer set of data with a stronger signal, making it more easily interpretable & actionable.

Therefore, marketers need to take their focus off “collect all the customer data we can” & towards “what data will help our customers experience our brands”. & in the latest marketing trends one word has stood out more than any other, “experience”.

Application of Smart Data Marketing

Let’s look at an example. You could have a survey on a website, asking visitors a set of focused questions. Questions that are designed to reveal more need-based information, like visitor intent. The survey will reveal a clearer set of data, they will be user-led & easy to leverage, offering a more straightforward approach to data interpretation. This, in turn, gives marketers a clearer picture of what needs to be done next.

Collecting this type of data provides a stronger signal because it is the visitor who inputs the answers, & data is not submitted to interpretations that have a possibility to be wildly inaccurate. This is just one example & it is only applicable to a narrow set of situations, but the exploitation potential for qualitative data is immense. What needs to be applied in order to transform big data into smart data is context.

Considering the context when collecting data could hugely benefit not only your company as a whole, but customer experience. & we all know the benefits yielded by great customer experience. When using smart data marketing, take context into account, take data collection issues into account & follow the best practices for data analysis, data interpretation & statistics.

Gathering data is one half of the business, but it is the first half. So you have to start somewhere, build a form, publish it on your website, publish it on Facebook (we hear these ones are great) & be well on your way to successfully use smart data marketing, it’s the new thing!
